In the late 1970s, the first spiritual seekers of the 1968 and hippie generation came back to Europe from their inner and outer journeys and exchanged ideas. Some of these people founded a tipi village in South Wales to live as a community close to the elements and seasons in harmony with the Earth.
This ‘new’ ancient way of life also includes circle dancing and circle chanting. In the 1980s, the group Prana made a significant contribution to the renaissance of this devotional form of music.
Their songs and chants mostly came directly from Indian temples or the spiritual traditions of North America, such as the Native American Sun Dance. Over the years, Prana gave countless concerts and invited people to song and circle dance camps, where the participants also lived in tipis, in harmony with the elements: the central fireplace, water, air and earth. In 1982, Prana (the name is the Sanskrit word for life force) gave a legendary concert in Findhorn, which contributed significantly to the spread of chanting.
Until its dissolution in 1992, Prana also made professional recordings, but these never reached the wider market. earth heart music has awakened the original Prana master tapes from their slumber, brought them into a modern recording studio for digitising and remastering. Not only a rare piece of music history, but also timeless music that draws powerfully from the original sources and therefore remains fresh and authentic.
